This is my submission to the Tomie dePaola Illustrator Award. This year, Tomie has chosen an excerpt from “Chicken Licken,” by P.C. Asbjörnsen, as the piece to be illustrated.

    Really delayed response, but I love your illustration! Is this collage?

      Hi Annie! Thank you for your kind comment.
      This illustration is a three-dimensional paper collage that measures 22" x 15" x 2.5"
      To make it, I used watercolor paper, which I painted with gouache. Then, I glued all the pieces together.
