Picture This!

I'm thrilled to announce that my illustration Good Morning has been selected for the Danforth Museum of Art Annual Children's Illustration Juried Exhibition that showcases new and original artwork created by picture book illustrators.

This years juror was Carol Goldenberg who writes, teaches, and lectures widely on the art of children’s book design. Carol has designed five Caldecott Medal winning picture books and one Caldecott honor book!

The selected works will be exhibited from September 9 through November 4.

3x3 Children’s Show No. 9 Winners Announced!

My illustration We are going to tell the King is a merit winner of the 3x3 Children's Illustration Show No.9 and it's going to be included in the 3x3 Children's Show Annual due out in the Winter.

This year's 3x3 Children's Show had over 1,500 entries from 35 countries all over the world. To get into the show entrants needed to receive the majority of the seven judges' votes. The judges this year included Yvette Ghione, Editor, Kids Can Press, Canada; Lucie Papineau, Art Director, Canada; Alexandra Penfold, Editor, Paula Wiseman Books and illustrators Ofra Amit, Israel; Bob Daly; Binny Talib, Australia and Christiane Beauregard, Canada.

Congratulations to all the medal and merit winners!

My paper collage cakes made it to the Top Ten!

Spoonflower asked designers to create a cake-themed collage using paper and glue, then to create a fabric design. My fabric pattern "100 Percent Paper Cakes" came second!
